I just got back from a press conference by the folks of Ozine Fest and Otakuzine where they announced the postponement of Ozine Fest Encore.

I won’t go into details on how bad the time management of the organizers of the press conference was, so let’s just get down to business. The said event has been moved to sometime in January 2011. The primary reason lies in some technical and logistical problems with the event relating to possible guests. So in order to accommodate the guests better, the folks behind Ozine Fest decided to postpone it instead of giving some half-baked event. Good call, to be honest.
As for who these possible guests are, well, let’s just say they would be big. The biggest of these guests had some problems with recent changes in schedule, and this threw a wrench in the initial plan. But rest assured that the folks of Ozine Fest are still working on having the same set of guests be present on January 2011. Oh and supposedly plus more guests as well.
If you really want to know who would have supposedly come on the event, I can’t announce it officially. Just contact me personally via Facebook or e-mail (tzia_n[at]yahoo[dot]com), and I’ll give you some “rumors,” if you know what I mean ^_^
In other news, Otakuzine has been announced to be the official Philippine partner of AFA X, Anime Festival Asia 2010. Also, the people behind Ozine Fest will instead probably have a different event this October 8-10 to replace the postponed one. No details has been set yet for that one.
So Cosplay Mania X, here we go! Sorry Collecticon 2010, you just don’t quite cut it…
aww. and i was so excited about it. but it is indeed a good call! at least they won’t push through when one of the special guest is not available. i will still look forward for this wonderful event. and it’s ozine! they never fail to impress me in terms of anime conventions!

AFA X just landed to a finish a few days back. They had a few artists invited over (angela, JAM Project, SCANDAL, and more). Even had Hanazawa Kana (Nadeko, Tenshi / Tachibana Kanade, Zange) as the special seiyuu guest.
The guest list isn’t bad, really. It’s awesome. I’m wondering if this event will have the same guest list since, like what you’ve mentioned (and is actually a news to me XD) that “Otakuzine has been announced to be the official Philippine partner of AFA X, Anime Festival Asia 2010″. Itching to know at least, who the actual guests will be. DX

I want to ask if the event this January would still be held. Some say that it’s postponed and is moved to April. Is that true?
Here’s the thing, Otakuzine / Ozine has not been replying to my inquiries, so I really can’t tell for sure.
But here’s my 2 cents: Chances are, Ozine Fest Encore will not push through. The April event has always been Ozine Fest, and that most likely will push through just like every year.
