Winter 2012 – Inu X Boku Secret Service

Tsundere loli with a penchant for verbally abusing those around her. The usual stuff I guess.

Ririchiyo-sama

Ririchiyo is the daughter of some high-class family. But the stigma that came along with being born of a high profile family resulted in a less than desirable childhood. Her way of coping was to put up a bold front and verbally abuse those that were around her. This resulted in a life of solitude and self-loathing. For this reason, Ririchiyo moved to this exclusive estate where she can be alone and away from people. She wants to fix herself up before facing others again.

But this estate has some peculiar setup to it, as the residents of this estate are given one secret service guy to guard them. So Ririchiyo gets one even if she doesn’t want to.

The "dog"...

And this is where the show gives us something rather interesting: the dynamics between Ririchiyo and her bodyguard. She has a penchant to verbally abuse others. He has no concept of self worth. She is a terror. He’s a dog. See where I’m going? It’s rather fun to see her intentional and unintentional attempts at pushing him away all fail miserably simply because he doesn’t care.

Ok, kill me now if you don't need me.

Actually, the other interesting bit is figuring out this bodyguard. I am not quite sure if his pet demeanor is for real or he’s just messing with her big time.

Anyway, soon we get to see the various residents of the estate, and it seems like all these secret service guys are rather peculiar.

Yuri oneechan...

Things then begin to get dragging as Ririchiyo adjust to life in the mansion, that is, until things suddenly get supernatural when a human breaks into the estate.

Evil eyes.

So yeah, they turn out to be ayakashi…

The bodyguard.

The girl with the red hair.

Wait, isn’t the bodyguard supposed to be a fox instead of a dog?

Well, a dog personality though.

I dunno, it did kinda get dragging. And the supernatural bit wasn’t all that spectacular yet. The emotional scars of Ririchiyo isn’t all that new as well; it’s a fairly common plot. It wasn’t a bad watch, but I just couldn’t figure out what would make it stand out from the rest of them. Well, maybe trying to figure out what’s the deal with the bodyguard, but even that can only go so far.

Rating: 7/10

Points to Note: I wonder if this will have action.

Subs I Watched: HorribleSubs

Watch Next Episode: I dunno. Still on the fence.
