Winter 2012 – Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai

Wait, isn’t that Kohta Hirano from Highschool of the Dead?!

Where's the sniper rifle?

Segawa Yuuta has just hit college. While he’s already been living away from his married sister, who seems to be his only relative, college is supposed to celebrate absolute independence. So he hits college with a fresh start, and it seems the prospect of getting a hot girlfriend seems to be looking good. Although she’s quite the weirdo though…

That's the girl Raika behind.

But of course, if that was all there was to this show, then the title wouldn’t make sense. Here’s where the papa thing comes into play. Yuuta’s sister is married to a guy who’s already had two daughters from two previous marriages. The third one is the daughter of his sister.

So the older two are unrelated to Yuuta.

But then, for some odd reason, both Yuuta’s sister and her husband needs to go away for an extended amount of time. Yuuta is suddenly given the task to take care of the three daughters of the household, without being explained why. The couple was already gone when he was asked to visit.

But to complicate matters even more, Sora, the eldest of the three girls, has a crush on her step uncle Yuuta.

Yeah, it plays on a certain kind of fetish. But he's only older by 5 years.

So with this new cohabitation scheme set up, you pretty much know the drill of how this will turn out…

Right...

Bam, instant anime plot. For some odd reason tough, this reminds me of Oreimo and Haganai. That’s kind of a good thing because those two shows were rather enjoyable. But I don’t expect this to be groundbreaking or something of a tearjerker. I don’t expect the taking-care-of-children plot to turn out as awesome as Usagi Drop. But still, it’s rather enjoyable even if the premise isn’t all that new.

For the record, Hina is cute. So very cute. I’d be willing to watch this just for her sake.

I want a daughter... lawl

Rating: 7.5/10

Points to Note: I’d rather ship Yuuta x Raika

Subs I Watched: HorribleSubs

Watch Next Episode: You got that right.
