Ohohoho… A friend of mine commented that Best of Anime isn’t so best after all. All I can say is… well it’s your typical convention. Oh and pictures here… and here.
Not that there weren’t any noticeable stuff out there…
… or well cosplayed stuff…
… or ridiculously awesome stuff…
… but it’s pretty much the same old stuff in terms of content. Various shops selling their *cough* bootleg *cough* stuff. Then there’s the usual game demo’s and figure displays. Oh, and there’s also those random once-in-a-while activity booth no one knows what they’re for (marriage booth???). Of course, the actual cosplay competition started at who-know-what-hour since I couldn’t wait any longer. What can I say? I’m impatient.
And there sheer stupidity of what was being shown on stage was beyond me. I mean, the fashion show itself was weird in my books, but seriously, who the hell bounces as he catwalks some pieces of clothes? Worst off, who the hell bounces as he poses?!
Two things that caught my ire the most were first, the people standing on the aisle. I mean, you aren’t supposed to stand there people. There’s a reason why I stood for an hour under the camera: I won’t be blocking anyone that way nor would I be obstructing the aisle. So when you arrive late at the stage area only to block the aisle and stand in front of other people, I hope you’d understand what kind of a dick move that was…
Secondly, oh man, did you guys see how the male host handcuffed a female cosplayer to himself… in front of everyone? And the girl was struggling so very hard to get free the cuffs, and the guy simply smiled and resumed his hosting duties… in front of everyone?! He obviously knew how to pick locks, since he’s done that about 10 minutes prior to this. That counts as harassment in my books.
I kind of pity the girl, though, didn’t she have anyone to help her?
